Homemade Fresh Ginger Ale
Making homemade refreshing drinks is my favorite one..I love to try different recipes and play around with it. I have made quite a few recipes in the past months when the weather was hot, so i will be posting quite a few drink recipes soon.
Ingredients for Fresh Ginger Ale
For Ginger Syrup:
- Fresh Ginger - 1 cup grated (packed)
- Water - 2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
For Ginger Ale (Makes one serving)
- Ice cubes - 5 to 6
- Lemon Juice - 1 to 2 tbsp or to taste
- Lemon Slices - a couple of pieces (optional)
- Ginger Syrup - 3 to 4 tbsp or to taste
- Soda Water or Cold Water - 1 cup or as needed

Making homemade ginger ale was in my mind for so many days. And one fine day when i saw a bag full of fresh ginger lying around in the fridge. I got into action. Homemade ginger ale are so good, they are a perfect thirst quencher and taste so fresh than store bought ones. It is so simple to make. You can make the syrup ahead of time and keep in the fridge for so many days. So you will be having a handy syrup whenever you wanted.
How to Make Fresh Ginger Ale
- Wash and peel ginger. Grate it using a coarse grater. You will need1 cup of packed grated ginger
- Take this in a sauce pan. Add in 2 cups of water. Bring this to a boil. Simmer for mins.
- Switch off the flame and let it sit for 30 mins.
- Now strain this using a fine strainer.
- Pour this back into the sauce pan. Add in sugar and bring it to boil. Mix well so the sugar is dissolved.
- Now the ginger syrup is done. Allow this to cool down and store in a clean dry bottle. Keep refrigerated.
- Now make ginger ale. Take a glass and add some icecubes in the bottom.
- Squeeze in some lemon juice and throw in couple of lemon slices.
- Pour some ginger syrup. Fill with soda water, mix well.
- Serve cold.

@AnonymousYes u could, the taste may vary a little, but still it will be delicious. And you dont have to boil it for a long time.
